Cryotherapy

FAST, EFFECTIVE, AND MINIMALLY INVASIVE

Cryotherapy is a safe and effective way to remove common skin lesions using controlled cold therapy.

It works by rapidly freezing the targeted tissue, allowing the body to naturally shed the lesion over the following days or weeks — with minimal discomfort and downtime.

At our clinic, we use cryotherapy to treat a wide range of benign skin lesions, providing a fast and precise alternative to surgical excision or topical treatments.

WHAT IS CRYOTHERAPY?

Cryotherapy involves applying a very cold gas (usually nitrous oxide or liquid nitrogen) directly to a skin lesion. This causes freezing of the targeted tissue, which destroys the cells and allows healthy skin to regenerate in its place.

It’s a simple, non-invasive treatment that requires no cutting or stitches, and is usually complete within minutes.

What can Cryotherapy help with?

Cryotherapy can effectively remove a wide range of benign (non-cancerous) skin lesions, including:

  • Skin tags
  • Warts and verrucae (on hands, feet, or other areas)
  • Cherry angiomas (red blood spots)
  • Seborrhoeic keratoses (rough, wart-like age spots)
  • Solar lentigines (sun spots or liver spots)
  • Milia (small white cysts)
  • Non-cancerous moles (must be confirmed by a GP before treatment)

Lesions usually fall away naturally within 7–21 days, although some may require more than one treatment for complete removal.

Important safety information

We do not treat any lesion that is:

  • Changing in colour, size, or shape
  • Bleeding or crusting
  • Newly appearing and unassessed

If you have a new or changing lesion, it is essential that you seek advice from your GP or a dermatologist before booking a cosmetic removal. Your safety is always our first priority.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Treatment time: 15–30 minutes
Downtime: Minimal — some redness or blistering may occur
Aftercare: Keep area clean, avoid picking or rubbing
Results: Treated lesion typically flakes off within 1–3 weeks
Repeat treatments: Occasionally required for thicker or stubborn lesions

We will provide you with full aftercare instructions, and you’re always welcome to contact us with any concerns post-treatment.

WHO IS CRYOTHERAPY SUITABLE FOR?

Cryotherapy is ideal for clients looking to remove unwanted, harmless skin growths with minimal fuss or recovery time. It’s suitable for all skin types, though some lesions (particularly darker skin tones or facial lesions) may require careful assessment due to the risk of pigmentation changes.
